Dragon-A-Day Online: Day 1,127: Fins for Feet.

So a little over three years ago, I drew these little dragons because I was hot and tired. Tonight, I was kind of tired, but mostly didn’t know what to do, so I gave the old randomizer a whirl and  they came up again.

Looking at them, I thought hat they were a little unfinished (which makes perfect sense), so I tried to figure out why that was. The pectoral fins were a little too small to provide much push, though the posture and overall design was good. I thought to emphasize the fins (and overall… “finniness”) and call them “sea wyverns,” even though they didn’t have any limbs, but were (in my mind at this point) venomous like a lionfish, though they’re really aquatic amphipteres with large fins instead of wings.
