Dragon-A-Day, Day 48

Halloween went well, but it ran late, even with Daylight Savings Time on my side. The Day of the Dead involved a lot of cleaning up. By the end of the day, I wanted to crawl back into bed and sleep, but that would have broken the streak a claw-width from another milestone.

The Random Word Generator was throwing more duds (Nonsenuous? Really?), but I’d been thinking about the Macejaw Dragon for several reasons, and took something of a halfhearted stab at how they might use their signature move- the chinsmash.

Something that I’ve figured out: the neck needs to be a lot longer in order for it to work, which sort of goes against the squat and powerful body type that I’ve been leaning toward. It could be a straight up and down motion, which I hadn’t thought of, but why do that when you have claws, wings and tail to work with, or just a vicious bite? I can go back and dull down the claws, but if it requires a rearing up motion, there ought to be a tail for balance, or crazy hindleg strength and balance for a quadruped. So I went past myself, rethought the posture a bit, and came up with these:

I’ll have to think on this some more, but for now, I need to sleep.
