So I am still toying with the dragon from Saturday, and I hit a not-so-much-problem as a realization that I’m surprised I hadn’t realized sooner:
“I’ve realized a problem: the massive chest/shoulders of this (currently unnamed) dragon don’t work well with a forward-leaning posture- it looks (and is!) overbalanced and the tiny arms don’t help, as it can’t use them to hold itself up.”
“Basically, it needs larger legs and more tail to counter the mass of its upper body, or it needs to slim down some.”
I also belatedly realized that I shortened the neck, probably in keeping with the bullish shoulders and chest, while the first of these has a much longer, almost serpentine neck by comparison. Really, I ought to do some silhouettes for this one and see where the pieces end up before I get caught up in noodling out all the details of the facial structure and so forth.
