Speedpaint Sunday 31

So I was in kind of a hurry tonight, but decided to try something a little different from my MO the last few weeks.

I went back to sketching, albeit very roughly:

Then, working with black and white in varied opacity levels with one of the default Photoshop brushes (the brushes that I was playing around with a few weeks ago are just the wrong size for the size I typically work at, and I’ll need to make some more), I made a new layer and just kind of filled it in, trying to create texture and/or areas of highlight where I could:

Then, I was kind of dissatisfied with the brow ridge and eye, so I tried to fix it, along with some other things, by throwing a little more white around, and ended up with this:

I’m pretty happy with how this came out, though I kind of wish I were better at creating consistent greys- it doesn’t seem that it should be as hard as it is, but, ah well.  I ought to have made the neck less than 90% grey/black as well, but I guess in my haste to complete the piece, I overlooked it.
